Textbook Return Policy:
Newman University will issue a full refund on textbook purchases if a class is dropped during the drop/add period for that term and if the following conditions are met.
- Students must present the original receipt and a copy of the signed drop slip. If they do not have a drop slip, a 10 percent re-stocking fee will be deducted from the return price.
- If purchased new, the book must be returned in new condition (no marks or signs of wear, and software must be un-opened.) Books will be inspected by bookstore staff. If they are not deemed to be in new condition, a maximum of 75 percent of the new purchase price will be returned.
- Returns will be issued to the original form of payment. For purchases by check or cash, a refund check will be issued from the business office. For cash refunds under $25, cash will be given back at the time of the return.
The end of the drop/add period is the second Friday of classes for a 16-week session and the first Friday of classes for an eight-week session. For short-session classes, books may be returned within two days of the start of class, but a 10 percent re-stocking fee will apply.
Merchandise Return Policy:
Any non-text merchandise, such as clothing or supplies, must be returned within 30 days from date of purchase. You must present the original receipt, and the item must be in re-saleable condition. As with textbooks, refunds will be issued to the original form of payment. Any return of software must be made within one week of purchase and the software must be unopened.
Any exceptions to these policies will be at the discretion of the Bookstore Manager.
